Para Hockey

What is Para Hockey? Para Hockey is a winter sport that is available to all ages, both recreationally and competitively. Para Hockey (Formerly Sledge Hockey) is an adapted version of Ice Hockey. Players are seated in a bucket, which is supported by two skate blades, and move themselves with sticks which are spiked at one end and have curved blades at the other for shooting. In Nova Scotia, there is an entry point to this sport for everyone, whether living with a disability or not! Whether through an equipment loan program, learn to sledge program, recreational program, or competitive team!
Required equipment includes sticks and sleds which are provided by all programs, and helmets, hockey gloves, and elbow pads which are provided by the players.
