Cycling

Para Cycling is a year round sport available for people of all ages. Para Cycling is an adapted version of Cycling or Biking. There are three types of Adaptive Bicycles available in Nova Scotia; Handcycles, Tricycles and Recumbent Bicycles. Handcycles are similar to bicycles, but allow users to pedal with their hands instead of their feet. Tricycle's offer addition support and balance compared to two wheeled bicycles.
Recumbent bikes are designed so you sit lower to the ground with your legs out in front of you with the steering and hand controls down at your sides. In Nova Scotia, Tri-A-Ride offers the opportunity for participants to engage in an enjoyable physical fitness and social program for people with a wide range of conditions through cycling.

Para Cycling in Nova Scotia is governed by Cycling Nova Scotia.
